梁平汉，巴塞罗那自治大学经济学博士，中山大学政治与公共事务管理学院教授，博士生导师，中国公共管理研究中心研究员。研究领域为博弈论，政治经济学，行为和实验经济学，近五年来在Games and Economic Behavior, Journal of Comparative Economics, Review of Economic Design,《经济研究》、《管理世界》、《经济学季刊》、《世界经济》、《中国工业经济》等国内外一流学术期刊发表论文20余篇，曾获霍英东基金会高等院校优秀青年教师奖等表彰。
内容摘要：
We conduct a field experiment in a typical Chinese prison to examine in- group bias in groups with a stigmatized identity. Inmates are provided with the opportunity to work for a charity. We find evidence of both pro-sociality and in-group favoritism among inmates. They increase effort when their out- put contributes to a charity and work even harder when the beneficiary has prisoner identity. However, inmates who have been in prison for a longer period are less likely to increase their efforts to help a prisoner beneficiary. Such a negative correlation is not observed when the beneficiary is an out- sider. These findings are consistent with our hypothesis and highlight the importance of social interaction in the formation of in-group bias.
